E-GRANTS

The SC/ST department offers fee concession to students studying in plus two, degree, post graduation, polytechnic courses belonging to OBC, KPCR with annual income below 1 lakh. There is no income limit for SC/ST, OEC students for receiving fee concession. The students should apply online for the E grants from the Akshya Centers and the copy of the same along with income certificate, community certificate, copy of the savings bank passbook and Aadhar card should be submitted to the head of the institution.

HIGHER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

Every year Kerala State Higher Education council offers scholarships for 1000 talented students studying in Ist year degree in Govt. or Aided colleges. Selected students will receive Rs 1,54,000 within 5 years from the Ist year degree programme till completing post graduation. Applications are invited in the month of Nov-Dec. CENTRAL SECTOR SCHOLARSHIP

Under the ministry of Human Resource Development the Central Government offers scholarships for students who scored above 80% marks in plus two exams. The applications are invited in July-Aug. SUVARNA JUBILEE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP

The application for the Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship will be invited in Nov-Dec. This is offered by Govt. of Kerala for the BPL students studying in first year UG/PG courses in Govt., aided colleges. Students with 50% marks are eligible to apply. C.H. MUHAMMED KOYA MUSLIM GIRLS SCHOLARSHIP

The State Government of Kerala offers C H Muhammed Koya Muslim Girls Scholarship for the first year degree, PG students and also the students admitted to self financing professional colleges under merit quota. This is for female students belonging to Muslim, Latin, and converted Christians with annual income below 6 lakhs. Students who scored above 50%marks in the final exam are eligible to apply. POST METRIC SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is offered by the central government, Ministry of Minority Welfare for Muslim, Christian students studying degree, PG, Mphil, Phd courses. The applications will be invited in July –August month. Students with the annual income below 2 lakhs and having marks above 50% are eligible to apply. FISHERIES SCHOLARSHIPS

This scholarship is offered by the Fisheries Department of Kerala for the recognized children of fishermen. The degree students will be granted an amount of 950 and P.G students will receive Rs 1000 apart from the course fee. The application should be submitted to the head of the institution which will be forwarded to the district fisheries director. The form is available in the fisheries department.

SNEHAPOORVAM SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is offered by the Social Welfare Department of Kerala for the students who do not have a mother, father or both and whose guardians are not able to protect them due to ill health or financial reasons. The applications should be submitted to the head of the institutions. After the necessary verification the same will be uploaded in www.ikm.in/kssm.

BPHFC SCHOLARSHIPS

The application for fee concession and free hostel stay for blind, deaf and physically challenged students will be invited in Nov-Dec. The scholarship is offered by the State Government of Kerala. For details visit www.dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in.

HINDI SCHOLARSHIP

INDIRA GANDHI SINGLE GIRL CHILD SCHOLARSHIP

The applications for the Single Girl Child scholarship offered by the U.G.C will be invited in July-Aug. This scholarship is offered for the single girl child in a family studying in P.G. programmes. For details visit www.ugc.ac.in.

P.G. MERIT SCHOLARSHIP

1. Kerala State Higher Education Council Scholarship (HECS) 

  • Eligibility: First year degree students of Science, Humanities, Social Science, Business Studies. 
  • Qualifying marks in previous examination: For SC/ST 45% in Science and 40% in other subjects. For others 50% in Science and 45% in other subjects. 
  • Scholarship Amount: For UG Rs. 12000 for first year ; Rs.18,000 for second year (1st Renewal); and Rs. 24,000 per year (2nd Renewal) for final year; 
  • Post Graduation (for continuing education) – Rs. 40,000 for first year (3rd renewal) and Rs. 60,000 for second year (4th renewal).

2.Merit Scholarship to the Children of School Teachers (MSCT) 

 Eligibility: Children of Primary and Secondary School Teachers only are eligible. Scholarship Amount: For UG and PG Rs. 50 per month for 3 years and 2 years respectively. \

3.State Merit Scholarship (SMS) 

  • Eligibility: Applicant should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying exam and should be first year student of UG or PG. 
  • Annual income of the parents/guardian from all sources should not exceed Rs. 1lakh. 
  • Scholarship Amount: For UG Rs. 1250 per annum for 3 years. 
  • For PG Rs. 1500 per annum for 2 years. 

4.Muslim Nadar Girls Scholarship (MNS) 

  • Eligibility: Should be first year girl student of UG and should belong to Forward of BPL family and Backward Community. Annual income of the parent/guardian should not exceed Rs. 18,000 per annum. Scholarship Amount: For UG Rs. 125 per annum for 3 years.

5.Hindi Scholarship (HS) 

  • Eligibility: Hindi must be one of the subjects in the present studying course. 
  • Only I year students are eligible for applying the scholarship. 
  • Scholarship Amount: For UG Rs. 500 per month for 3 years; 
  • For PG Rs. 1000 per month for 2 years. 


6.Sanskrit Scholarship (SSE) 

Eligibility: Sanskrit must be one of the subjects in the present studying course. Only Ist year students are eligible for applying the scholarship. Scholarship Amount: For UG and PG Rs. 200 per month for 3years and 2 years respectively. 


7.Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship (SJMS) 


Eligibility: should be first year students of UG or PG. should belong to BPL family. Should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying examination. Scholarship Amount: For UG and PG Rs. 10000 per annum or 3 years and 2 years. 


8. Blind/PH Scholarship (BPHFC) 


Eligibility: Blind/PH/Deaf students studying in UG and PG. Financial support: Fee Charges for Blind students with family annual income below Rs. 2.5 lakhs. Hostel charges for all PH students who are hostellers and whose family annual income is below Rs. 4.50 lakhs. Boarding charges for all PH students who are day scholars and whose family annual income is below Rs. 4.50 lakhs. Can apply as fresh in all academic.

9.District Merit Scholarship (DMS) 


Renewal Eligibility: Continued from +2 level up to UG level. Should have scored A Plus in all subjects in the SSLC Examination March 2013, conducted by Board of Public Examinations, Kerala State. Scholarship amount : Rs. 1250 per annum for 3years. 


10. Kerala University Merit Scholarship 

Eligibility: Meritorious students of UG & PG, who scored not less than 60% marks in the qualifying examination. Students enjoying any other scholarship are not eligible. Scholarship amount : for UG students Rs. 2500/- per annum for 3 years & for P.G. students Rs. 2,500/- per annum for 2 years. 


11. Students' aid fund scholarship 

This scholarship is aimed at helping students who find it difficult to pursue studies due to financial problems. The amount : Rs 1000/ for degree students and Rs 1500/ for PG students Who can apply? : Regular students of colleges (including professional colleges) and Departments of the University of Kerala. Those who enjoy other scholarships or stipend can also apply. Annual Income Limit of parents : Rs.25,000/- Application form: Please contact your Principal / Head of the Department for application form. Document required: Income Certificate of parents from Village Officer.

12.Student Aid Fund (SAF) 


Scholarships from Kerala University Union Eligibility: Students of Degree & P.G. classes whose parents’ annual income does not exceed Rs. 10,0000 per annum. Annual income of the parent/guardian should not exceed Rs. 96,000/- Scholarship amount: for UG Rs. 2000/- per annum for 3 years & for P.G. students. Rs. 3,000/- per annum for 2 years.

13. SNEHAPOORVAM Scholarship of Kerala Social Security Mission 


Eligibility: Orphans (die either father or mother) who are living in the family, with their relatives, friends, or the support of the community. Scholarship amount: for UG and PG students, Rs.10,000/- per annum for 3 years and 2years respectively

14. ASPIRE scholarship for PG/M.Phil/Ph.D programmes 


Eligibility: Meritorious students of the University Departments / Colleges under the University of Kerala for pursuing short term internships/projects in institutions other than their parent Colleges/University Departments. Award: Rs.8000/- p.m, for internship/ project undertaken within the state and Rs.10,000/- for internship/ project undertaken outside the state. The Scholarship will be provided for minimum period of one month for P.G. Course and a maximum period of 4 months for M.Phil and Ph.D courses (at a single stretch or in 2 phases) depending upon the proposal. 


15. C.H. Muhammedkoya Scholarship (CHMS) 


Eligibility: Should belong to Muslim, Latin, Converted Christian Community and should be a native of Kerala. Should be a girl student studying for the first year graduation or higher courses. Should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying examination. Annual income of the parent/guardian should not exceed Rs. 6 lakhs. Scholarship Amount: For UG: Rs. 5000 per annum for 3 years For PG: Rs. 6000 per annum for 2 years.

16.Prof. Joseph Mundassery Scholarsip (PJMS) 


Eligibility: Meritorious students of Muslim, Cristain, Sikkh, Buddah, Parsis, Jains community who studying in BA/BSc/B.Com in Arts/science colleges Award: Rs. 15000/- each given to outgoing students, scores 80% in UG final year examination and 75% in PG final year examination 


17.VIDYASAMUNNATHI Scholarship 


The UG & PG students of economically backward forward communities will get educational scholarships and competitive assistance for their studies. Award: Scholarship will be given to Undergraduate (Rs. 5000/- per year & post graduate students (Rs. 6000/- per year) Can apply as fresh in all academic years. No renewals.

18.Kerala State Backward Classes Development Corporation (KSBCDC) Scholarship


 The economically backward OBC students will get educational scholarships and competitive assistance for their studies. Annual income of the parents/guardian from all sources should not exceed Rs. 1,20,000/- Scholarship amount: Rs. 5000/- per year to Undergraduate & post graduate level for 3 years and 2years respectively.

19. PRATHIBHA Scholarship (KSCSTE, Govt. of Kerala) 


Eligiblity: The scholarship offered to meritorius BSc students of Botany, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Zoology; should have qualified Higher Secondary Board Examination with minimum 90% marks or equivalent grade for all subjects put together and minimum 90% marks or equivalent grade for all Science subjects put together. (For SC/ST reservation category, the eligibility is stipulated to minimum marks of 80% or equivalent grade for all subjects in total and minimum 80% marks or equivalent grade for all Science subjects in total. The objective of the programme is to motivate bright students to Higher studies in Basic and Natural Sciences by awarding them Scholarships. Prathibha Scholars are also provided opportunities to attend Science orientation programmes in reputed research laboratories in the state so as to introduce themselves to cutting edge areas of research and interact with pioneers in Science. The selected students are initially eligible for scholarship for 3-year U.G. programme. The scholarship could be continued for 2-year P.G. / 4 th & 5 th years of Integrated P.G./ 1 st and 2 nd years of Integrated Ph.D. subject to the guidelines of the scheme.

20.INSPIRE Scholarship (DST, Govt. of India) 


The scholarship offered to pursue undergraduate (UG) studies and continued up to postgraduate (PG) studies, is based on Class 12th standard examination results (top 1%) of respective Boards or within eligible rank in chosen few competitive examinations such as JEE (main), JEE (advanced), NEET (AIPMT) and securing admission in science stream (in any of science course or its combination out of 18 identified subjects) at any recognized colleges or universities or academic institutions in the country.

21. PG Merit Scholarship For University Rank Holders 

Eligibility: The rank holders of each university at undergraduate level to pursue their Master’s Degree. All universities/degree awarding institutions would be required to issue rank certificates to the toppers of the university in B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com.

22. Post Metric Scholarship (PMS) 


Eligibility: Students belonging to economically weaker sections of minority community (Muslims & Christians). 50% or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of the parents/guardian from all sources should not exceed Rs. 2 lakhs. Scholarship Amount: Rs. 3000 per annum for UG and PG students and maintenance allowance of Rs. 570/- per month for Hosteller & Rs. 300/- per month for Day Scholar.

23. PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child 


Eligibility: Any single girl child, being the only child of her parents, is eligible to apply for the PG scholarship scheme. The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has taken admission to the first year master’s degree programmes. The age of the girl student should not exceed 30 years at the time of admission. Scholarship Rates: Rs. 2,000/- per month for a period of two years only (10 months in the year) i.e. full duration of a PG course.

24.Post Metric Scholarships for Students with Disabilities (PMSD) 


Eligibility: The Scholarships are to provide financial assistance to the parents of students with disabilities for studying in post-metric level. The financial assistance includes scholarship, book grant, escort/reader allowance, etc. Selection of the beneficiaries under these two scholarship schemes is on the basis of merit.

25. Central Sector Scholarship (CSS) 


Eligibility: applicant should have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination conducted by CBSE and have secured the total aggregate marks (in first five subjects) equal or above the following minimum marks as per the stream opted by the applicant. Science: 418, Commerce: 396, Others: 332 (For all categories: SC/ST/OBC/UR). Annual income of the parents/guardian from all sources should not exceed Rs. 4.50 lakhs. 27. Educational concession to the students belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Eligible Communities including Kudumbies and Converts Award:


For Degree students lump-sum grant Rs. 950. Stipend : Rs. 600/- per month for students who come from places beyond the distance of 8 km. and Rs.530 per month for students who live within 8 km. PG students – lump-sum grant Rs. 675, stipend as above. All students eligible for concession should apply in the prescribed forms with necessary documents within one month of their admission to the college 

28. Educational concession to Socially and Educationally Backward Communities under KPCR Award


Full fee concession for Degree students. Full fee concession, lump-sum grant and stipend for P.G. Students.Income limit: Rs. 25,000/- per annum (Degree) Rs. 42,000/- per annum (P.G.) Applications are to be submitted within two months from the date of admission. 

29. Educational Concession to the Forward Communities under KPCR Award


: Full fee concession for Degree and P.G. students. Income limit: Rs. 25,000/- per annum (Degree). Rs. 42,000/- per annum (PG) 

30. Grants for FISHERMAN’s Child (Fisherman Scholarship) 


Award: Rs. 400- per annum – Subject to the date of enrollment. Eligibility: Students of all classes belonging to fishermen community irrespective of income limit. The application forms are available at the office of the Regional Deputy Director of Fisheries, Kollam.
